I've got various personal projects that I've either started or hope to work on sometime. This section of the site is to give a bit of information about these projects.
This is an in-progress Dreamweaver extension that aims to provide some handy Snippets for HTML5 Boilerplate related code. So far there are just two:
- Prompt IE6 Users to Install Chrome Frame
- Google CDN jQuery with fallback to local
With the growing popularity and support of @font-face within modern browsers I thought it was time that Dreamweaver supported the @font-face tag. I created the '@Font-Face Code Hints' Dreamweaver extension as an easy way of adding code hinting in Code View for the src and format properties used for the @font-face tag. Once installed you simply need to start the @font-face declaration and code hints will be offered in Code View for the SRC parameter and a choice of the Opentype, Truetype, SVG and WOFF font formats.
The extension works by saving an additional file called 'CodeHints-FontFace.xml' into the Code Hints Configuration folder, no existing files are overwritten in the process.
This extension adds code hinting for a few new CSS3 properties: border-radius, border-top-right-radius, border-top-left-radius, border-bottom-right-radius, border-bottom-left-radius, box-shadow, opacity and word-wrap.
It also supports the Firefox and Webkit specific variants for border-radius and box-shadow. There's currently no IE specific variants for opacity so they need added manually.
Check out http://www.css3.info/preview/ for more info regarding these CSS3 properties.
Simple Twitter WP Displays your public Twitter messages on your site. Based on the Twitter for Wordpress plugin by Ricardo González but has been rewritten to make use of the SimplePie RSS features of WordPress instead of the deprecated MagPie RSS code. It also includes a few additional options to make it a bit more useful.
The plugin is generally added as a Widget (although there are methods indicated on the 'Twitter for WordPress' site to show how it can be used via code).
A common solution is to reduce words down in size by using shortened forms often referred to as 'text speak'. However, this method of writing can be difficult to write or understand, so I've developed this Twitter web app called Twitterative. Twitterative has two functions: reduce tweets down by translating ordinary english language words into text speak (or should I say 'txt spk'), or enlarging them from text speak back into ordinary english language.
I've written a blog post with a bit more information about it so read "shrink ur twts!" to get more information about it.
