while I agree that Apple's H.264 is a fantastic format and works well on iPhone, the omission of Flash support in the iPhone has effected much more than video presentation. Flash websites, presentations, widgets and games are unavailable to users. While there has always been and always will be disagreement with the usage of Flash as a web UI, the fact remains that it is a powerful, elegant and, in many ways, more efficient tool. The presentation and interaction possibilities available with Flash are far superior to what can be done with JavaScript, for example. Regardless of the efficiency of using H.264 to serve video, Apple did their customers a huge disservice in omitting Flash support on the iPhone.
